It was such a great showcase to show a summary of a wrestler and who they are, seeing shots from promo/hype packages, facial expressions, their finishing moves, etc. Once upon a time almost everyone had a unique video representing their character.

Some of the talent just doing it for a hobby and sharing their enjoyment of the product is astounding. It would be a great way for the company to promote the fans while also increasing involvement.

It has always been in the back of my mind why WWE couldn't utilise the same concept working with online creators to make the entrance videos for their wrestlers. Channels like Eric Minnesota and Dalyxman were highlighted. Side note, I'm not sure if anyone remembers this but for a year or so the WWE Youtube would work with creators on the platform sharing their Mashup creations on the channel. Obviously behind the scenes they could point out utilising resources more efficiently ect, presentation ect but creatively this is another example of the little things that made WWE what they were, to make the whole package. There have been some memorable entrance videos throughout the years and being replaced by graphics just seemed like a needless change. I hadn't noticed before then so maybe it wasn't that important to me? It proves their not that essential? It still seemed strange to me that they would wipe out entrance videos for absolutely everyone. But i still feel there is something lost in the change. In some cases, especially in NXT where they'll just use a stock AE template, they are, but making something completely from scratch is in itself difficult and time consuming. Now i'm not going to sit here and call them lazy because I don't think people who aren't into graphics designs appreciate how much effort goes into them when those words are said. Or Triple H who when his music would hit and you would see 'Start Game' flash up on the screen but now it's just 'HHH' in big bold letters with loads of random logos floating around it. Someone like The Undertaker doesn't need one where it highlights him moving around the ring given the nature of who he is but John Cena is a good example of someone whose titantron fit his presence as the franchise. Factoring in not showing titantron videos for even their veteran wrestlers anymore who had them previously. With a new look came a new stage and so came the transitioning from video to mostly slightly animated graphics. The HD era was a time of change within WWE and in 2016 especially with the draft, reinforced brands and a new look. A great example is the titantron for Enzo & Cass who fans soon found the template for online to duplicate and they held on to that until Enzo was released. But when they get called up they didn't receive them either. Instead, graphics, basic nameplates with a colourful background have replaced the more traditional mini-movie.Īt the time the big comparison was that NXT wrestlers didn't seem to have them down in NXT which fair enough due to it being a developmental (at the time) and their stage setup didn't really benefit from them especially in the early days of the company. That there didn't seem to be any entrance videos anymore. Is there a better topic to ramble about? It's been a while now but I remember watching a weekly dose of WWE RAW when I noticed something that surprised me because it happened almost under my nose. However, the folks at bring word that Orton isn’t expected to miss SummerSlam on August 19, so take that how you will.Titantrons. There’s no timetable for when we can expect to see Orton back in the ring, nor is there any word on whether the need to get this procedure had anything to do with the news that Orton would need to take some time off this year. “I’ve known I needed the surgery since late last year, but I’ve been waiting for the right time to get my knee cleaned out,” Orton said in a statement to WWE.com. It sounds like he wrestled that match - and a number of other matches in recent months - with a wheel that wasn’t at 100 percent. Orton hasn’t had a match since Backlash earlier this month, where he was pinned by Jeff Hardy with the United States Championship on the line. Orton needed a surgical procedure to repair a medial meniscus tear in his left knee. According to WWE.com, Orton went under the knife on Friday. Do you get joy out of watching Randy Orton wrestle? Well, I have some bad news: You’re not going to experience the feeling of joy that you get during the Viper’s matches any time soon.
